what photographers say about the book

Enrico photographs for Stance Daily , among others, and as an experienced photographer, he took the time to give his opinion on our book:
"I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to get started with photography. It's really well-described, detailing the equipment you need. It's also great for advanced photographers who want to improve; you can never know everything. I was very surprised by this book. I can only praise it highly. It's simply very well written and explained, even for a lazy reader like me :)"

For a good six years now, I've been primarily dedicated to automotive photography. Until now, I've taught myself everything I know about the subject—practicing a lot, reading up on things, or looking for tips online when something wasn't working the way I wanted. Of course, that takes a lot of time and hasn't always been productive, so I've always been left with unanswered questions.
Now I came across Julia's book on photographing cars by chance and I have to say, I should have had this book 6 years ago, then I would have gotten to where I am today faster.
A superbly structured approach; every question you might initially have is answered with excellent explanations and, above all, understandable answers. There are plenty of tips and tricks, you'll be pointed out mistakes to avoid, and you'll learn a thorough understanding of photography from the ground up. I highly recommend it to anyone who's in the automotive industry or wants to be. A small book with great added value.

The creation of the book began at the end of 2019. I've enjoyed photography since my youth, but only started taking it commercially in 2017, although most of the commissions actually came from the vehicle maintenance sector.
When the coronavirus crisis began to emerge in early 2020, I finally decided to put my idea for a book into action. I was still working as an employee, writing in every free moment I had, including weekends and evenings. Initially, I only planned to write a short guide for my clients to help them take better photos, given the lockdowns and regulations in place. But after their feedback, I realized I could do even better and be more comprehensive, and so the book "Photographing Cars" was born, entirely by me – but with the help of Giuseppe, but more on that later.

The funny thing about our collaboration is that we didn't know each other personally at the time, only indirectly through two friends, and that's how we got talking. My problem with the lockdown and the progress of my book was that I didn't have pictures of all the positions and everything I wanted to show, and I couldn't take any new ones. I still don't know exactly why, but he trusted me and my idea and offered me access to many of his photos. Thanks to his help, the first issue was published that same year. We even met in person afterward to photograph a job together for a local car dealership.
FAQ
A resounding YES. The book requires NO prior knowledge, and you can start taking photos right after reading it. Good luck with it.
A definite no! If you're unsure which one to choose, I recommend the "regular" version. Both books have the same main structure, and the smartphone book makes more sense if you really only want to take photos with your smartphone. It lacks the chapters on camera settings for things like night shots or rolling shots. However, the camera version lacks information on helpful apps for smartphone photography and detailed explanations, but, as mentioned, it does include more content on camera settings. If you're still unsure, feel free to email me.
